CareScan is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a place on the NHS Supply Chain Framework for the Supply of Inventory Management Systems (IMS), Point-of-Care (PoC) Scanning Systems and Associated Hardware Devices.

The framework award covers:

  • Lot 1: Inventory Management Systems (IMS)

  • Lot 2: Point-of-Care Scanning Systems (PoC)

  • Lot 3: IMS & PoC Systems Combined

This milestone reflects CareScan's continued commitment to helping NHS organisations improve patient safety, strengthen clinical traceability, optimise inventory management and drive operational efficiencies through connected data and intelligent workflows.

More than inventory management

Many inventory management systems focus on stock visibility alone. Point-of-care solutions often focus solely on clinical traceability; CareScan brings these capabilities together.

By connecting inventory management with point-of-care scanning, Trusts can follow products from procurement and receipt, through storage and replenishment, all the way to patient use. This creates a complete picture of product movement, clinical activity and operational performance.

The result is greater visibility across products, places, people and procedures, supporting safer care, better governance and more informed decision-making.

Built within the NHS. Proven in practice.

Originally developed within the NHS to address real-world challenges around patient safety and clinical traceability, CareScan continues to evolve alongside healthcare organisations facing increasing demands for efficiency, accountability and visibility.

Today, CareScan supports NHS teams through a combination of technology, implementation expertise and ongoing partnership, helping organisations move beyond compliance and deliver measurable improvements across clinical and operational services.

Supporting the future of NHS transformation

The inclusion of both Inventory Management Systems and Point-of-Care Scanning Systems within the framework reflects the growing recognition that inventory visibility, traceability and patient safety are intrinsically linked.

From reducing waste and improving stock control, to supporting recall management, patient-level costing (PLICS), NJR integration and MDOR readiness, alongside GS1 standards, CareScan helps organisations transform everyday operational data into meaningful improvements.

A trusted route to procurement

The NHS Supply Chain framework provides NHS organisations with a compliant and trusted route to procure solutions that support the delivery of safer, more efficient healthcare services.

For organisations exploring inventory management, clinical traceability or wider Scan4Safety initiatives, the framework offers a straightforward way to access CareScan's integrated capabilities through an established procurement route.

Looking ahead

This award marks an exciting step in CareScan's continued growth and reinforces our vision of connecting inventory management, clinical traceability and point-of-care intelligence within a single platform.

As healthcare organisations continue to seek greater visibility, stronger governance and more efficient ways of working, CareScan remains committed to helping teams deliver safer care through better information, better workflows and better decisions.
